Jan Poulsen will step down as National Coach and Goal 2010 Director.
PN Sivaji will be the caretaker coach with Fandi Ahmad as his assistant.
In view that the national team has only one assignment in March this year, it's logical to appoint a caretaker coach while the FAS looks for a permanent one. Sivaji is the best man available for us now as he has good knowledge of the local football scene. It's also good that Fandi will be his assistant as this will give Fandi the opportunity to learn the ropes of coaching international football.

I can only wish Siva and Fandi all the very best. If they contiune to pick the same crop of players as Jan did, I believe the results would still be the same. Its tough to teach old birds new tricks.. Personally, I feel they have to be bold and try out others. Surely after so many years of S-League, we did produce a few bright players other than the usual Nazri, Rafi, Rudy, Zul++++. Also ALL THE BEST TO FAS in their global search for a national coach... Bora and Guus are worth considering but at what price?

In Singapore's case, the coach is important but not as important comparing to other countries.
Think the players play the most crucial part. With the standard of players we have now, even with the best coach in the world, 2010 dream is still a dream.
