Here's the latest: Everton Chief Executive Michael Dunford has announced that there are talks with Liverpool Chief Rick Parry on idea of ground share, with a new 60,000 capacity stadium at Stanley Park, with planning application due to be submitted early next month.
Some extracts from the article, which is found in the Daily Post as well as the match program booklet.
'It does seem senseless to have two clubs going off in their own direction potentially investing upwards of 150m pounds on 2 separate schemes when, as we've seen in Italy, a shared scheme can work for two footballing giants'...Michael Dunford
'A Daily Post poll on ground sharing last week revealed that 70pc of Mersey football fans did not want to share a stadium, with only 30pc in favour.'
'I am against the idea. It would be the death knell for Everton, as we know it. '...Mark O'Brein, editor of the Everton fanzine website.
The Liverpool City Council is helping to facilitate the talks, but regardless of whether it did materialise, it seems that Liverpool is going ahead with the plan of the new 60,000 capacity stadium.

Commercially, it's a very good deal for both clubs. Especially us. I thought that it will be nice if Merseyside can have its own San Siro. Will make us even more unique. I was willing to accept the idea of group sharing as I can foresee that it will benefit both clubs and Merseyside as a whole.
However, after reading what the sh!te fans had to say on this ground-sharing issue, I say forget it. The sh!te thinks that they r doing charity work for us if they share a ground with us. Instead of looking ahead and being positive, they only looked at the negatives and concentrated on looking down on us. (No wonder they are called the SH!TE)
They seem to forget that they owe their existence to us.

Nah Ivan... let them continue sleeping.... They always think they r so great when they have not even won the league in ages. I just hope Foolier stays in charge. He's doing a 'good' job with them. Heskey must also stay with them.

I personally think that sharing a ground would means that all the history associated with the club would be so meaningless then...a visit to a shared ground would definitely mean less to me than visiting Goodison Park...one thing that comes to my mind immediate: "What are the seat colours going to be?"

What is so frustrating is that the Blues applied for the stanley park site first, and were refused, I would prefer we stayed at goodison park, rather than share anything with Liverpuke. . ................. Hi everyone i am a new registation from the EFC ONLINE site in ENGLAND
