ROONEY WARNED www.evertonfc.com/news/article.asp?id=5357Darren Moore threatens to have revenge on young Rooney for his cheeky behavior in the last game. A bit worrying tat Rooney is baiting opponents like this at 17. Shows his confidence of course but I rather he concentrate on scoring.

Well... he's just sour that a 17 yr old did that to a big fella like him.
Why is he complaining when all he did was just stand there and admire Rooney's golden boots?? He was like a metre away from Rooney and didn't even put a challenge in.
He wants to take revenge on Rooney? Well... if he can get near him first! If you look at the video of that incident, Moore didn't even manage to get near Rooney. Let alone put in a hard tackle on him.
If you have read reports for the match, Moore was one of the many WBA players that didn't play well. Guess he's trying to take the attention away by mentioning about Rooney.
He also mentioned that there wasn't much difference between the 2 teams in the match. Look at the stats big fella. We completely out numbered them in terms of shots on target, attempted and corners. We could have trashed them by at least 4 goals if our finishing had been more clinical.
This big fella is really sour about the defeat...

Agree. That West Bromwich guy ah...lousy loser! Use Rooney as a distraction for his lousy performance. But good strategy I must say. Must learn from him..hehehe

We all feel that moore is a sore loser, but lets admit it rooney was a wee bit too confident and cocky if i would say. he is only 17 and he is behaving like this. what would be of him 3 to 4 years down the road? we need talents in the club (i must say he has plenty) if we are to be a force to be reckon soon but not showman. he needs to be kept in check or he would stray...

Ya Rooney has great talent n Moore isn't exactly wat we call a gracious loser. My worry is tat Moore or some other sore loser will get a chance to hit Rooney with a 'cheap shot' (eg: Rooney shielding ball n some oaf sliding into his back).
When Rooney reputation grows, defenders will try to intimidate Rooney by getting more physical. Y piss them off more than he has to? Hope he concentrates on football n bags the winner at the mereyside derby =)

Read here for Gary Lineker's interview with soccernet columnist Dale Johnson www.soccernet.com/columns/2002/1125/20021125featdale.html(scroll down to where you see Rooney's picture for his take on Everton) Lineker is amused that Rooney is facing so much protection from Moyes. His viewpoint is that Rooney shld be given some exposure so that he learns how to deal with the media- "If you can nurse them along and let them do the odd interview, obviously controlled, it makes them easier to learn" (quoted from Lineker) He may be right in certain sense because over-protection might lead to Rooney's incapability to deal with the vicious media...our rising star does need some training in handling the media yah?

Maybe Moyes is worried of giving rooney too much exposure and attracting too much media attention before wayne commits his signature to an Everton 5 yrs contract?

Well on his arrogant, I always believe it you got what it take flaunt it. And oblviously Rooney had got what it take so if moore don't like it sock it. True more talk will come, but wouldn't prove one point, their inablility to cage our young star. So dont read too much into their report, they are just trying to take credit away from him and give excuse of their inability.
On the fact of media, well I agree with lineker but I felt Rooney might be too young to be explose without guildence. I rather he led the manager do the talking and let his boots do the scoring. At the end of the day, a player is judge by the way he plays and not the way he answer questions.

Should not take Lineker's comments too much to heart. After all he is not a true blue toffee although he played one season for us. He is after all a true blue foxes boy. The graffer is right to shield Rooney from the media. The british media is never kind on words. Take the BBC awards night for example, the next day the papers commented on Rooney's attire and behaviour when he went up to recieve a award. After all he is only 17 and he is just behaving like any 17 year old. And at 17 sometimes you might say something without much thought and later get bombarded by the media. Not easy to handle bad press at this young tender age.

There is a comment I like to make so what if he is arrogant, he got the skill, he got what it takes. To those who is jealous that he is with us, then sock it. He is ours and he had not be getting into trouble. Look at him on the field, he had matured so much, the horrible tackle on him, any player would have swing a punch but he clamly walks away without so much of a protest. That is class, if people insist he is still arrogent, well so be it. Let the arrogant boy bring u down then. He is alway Rooney to us!
