Hi All,
I need you to help me identify a few places that can be our regular pub hangout.
I have been in contact with the guy from Asia Pacific Breweries and he suggested Eastside at Mohd. Sultan. I asked him to suggest a few more places but he said that he actually has too many to recommend. He suggested that we look for a few places on our own and he will help us deal with the owner of the place we have in mind. The only thing is that the place must have Tiger on tap.
I was thinking of a pub/outlet that is not too crowded and our regular patronage of the place will actually boost its business. IMO, Eastside at Md Sultan is already quite crowded on its own. I suggest we avoid the more established joints as our addition will not mean as much as to the smaller outlets.
I need your help to identify a few places. The place must have: 1) screenings of Live EPL matches on big screen 2) big enough to take in 20-50 of us 3) have Tiger on tap 4) central location
Give me your suggestions and I'll get the APB guy to work out a deal for us.
For the time being, we'll just stick with Beach Bar and pray it doesn't rain on match days!

this kinda thing must ask DixieDean...hes the KING OF PUBS/CLUBS man ;D perpetual clubber!
I think Eastside is quite alright lar...I m not familiar with smaller pubs...prob one of those in Clarke Quay or the back alley of Boat Quay but chances are that the smaller pubs wont have big screens.
You can try Red Chambers at Mhd Sultan, I watched my World Cup matches there. Its in the Courtyard where you find the back entrance of Newsroom Bar, Cafe Cartel etc. They have a big TV screen (the WC matches all telecasted on the big screen)

honestly beach bar is not a bad place, only just that it is open-air........i personally dont like places that are too noisy because u have to shout to be heard..... just imagine when the committee wants to talk to us during half-time, will the DJ allows that? ? i think if we can get someplace which is similar to beach bar will be great, with a shelter.......

I personally think east side is great. further more by calculation I think they can take about 30 - 50 depends on how many screen we take.
The main one will be about 35 while there is 2 side screen about 8 each? so if we take the main on then we will be the ones making all the noise.

I can check out on another pub in Duxton. Not crowded. Used to go there but not for a few years now. Don't know if the pub is still there. The pub upstairs used to have a big TV and sofa plus a pool table. Looks cool. Will try to check out but no promise. OK.

I think a non alcoholic place can be good too. If there are young Evertonians below the age of 18 who want to join us cannot go into the pub. I don't know about age restriction in pubs.
The parents of youngsters may also don't allow their children to join us if they know their kids may be infuenced at a young age.
A cafe something like that. I don't think cafes have cable TV. Just a suggestion.
But I think this will set a good image for the supporter club. SESC can be for the young and old.

I totally agree with Tony. The Beach Bar is THE PERFECT PLACE!
You don't have to worry about smoke (Its Al fresco),its quite breezy. They don't play loud music (We'll be cheering at the top of our lungs anyway). Bouncers and age limit.( No bouncers and there are about 30 of us every time). Sleazy women( Haven't seen any yet), so you can bring your kids down.
No cover charge. Soft drinks are abt $5. Good Entertainment from the Alan Stubbs Corner during the game and drunk evertonians afterwards. Most importantly the post match free flow of beer from well wishers.
The only thing to worry about is when it rains
Cheers
Ezhar

I dont know how is the discussion of the dealing with beach bar but here is another alt. www.nuerhong.biz/photos.htmlThey don't have a 100 inch projector but a 43 inch projection tv. and a smaller tv by the side. Inside they have 2 more tvs. I do remember seeing the tiger tab. But parking might be a problem, I remember my friend park pretty far away. The pub is pretty close to arsenal fan regular hang out
